Words Are Cheap: To Achieve Financial Freedom, You Have To Want It More Than You Want Bullshit!

“Building wealth is all about vanity!”

“Money makes people evil!”

“Rich people are just lucky!”

The mediocre sure have a way with words.

I find that the people who make these kinds of statements are usually not interested in taking control of their finances. Rather, they just want to spew some silly idiom that was probably spewed to them by someone who never achieved much.

“Actions speak louder than words”, goes the saying.

This means that people’s actions show their real philosophies, rather than what they say.

This principle applies strongly to financial success. If you want to know what you like, believe in, and find important, then look at your behavior. You may surprise yourself.

It is much easier to lie with your words than with your actions because what you do more strongly correlates with what you want and what you believe. You can say anything without really believing strongly in it.

Which is why clever catchphrases are beloved by the mediocre. They explain away a lack of success. And that’s exactly what happens to people who utter this type of nonsense – success stays away.

Successful people are opposite of this.

Rather than hide behind some cute saying, they let their actions speak for them. Saving money. Investing well. Starting a business. Action, action and more action. As Ben Franklin said, “Well done is better than well said.”

I’m often asked what the key is for breaking thru to financial success. It’s this…

You have to want financial freedom more than you want bullshit.

Not very elegant, but hopefully you get the point.

There is irrefutable proof that those who speak positively about money, set clear goals for obtaining more of it, and act on those goals with laser like intent, often succeed in accomplishing them.

Just as those who always say the worst things about money…

There’s never enough.

You have to be born into wealth.

I’ll wait to start saving for retirement.

…Seem to attract more of the same. More lack. More scarcity. More financial issues.

Friends, words are a dime a dozen and talk is cheap. Building wealth requires a plan of action that contains deadlines and to do lists. In order for actions to speak louder than words, there must be substance. Financial freedom requires commitment instead of rhetoric.

So, when you hear someone saying something stupid about wealth building, just know that they want to hide behind words, not stand proud on what they’ve accomplished.

And if you see a gap between your words (or thoughts) and your actions, trust the actions, not the words.

Let your results do the talking…

A swelling bank account.

An impressive stock portfolio.

Worn down pages in classic self-improvement books.

For these are the very actions that propel someone to financial freedom.

Be free. Nothing else is worth it.
